Auction overlap happens when two or more of the same advertiser's ad sets compete for the same person in the same Meta auction; Meta enters only the ad it expects to perform best, so the remaining ad sets lose that delivery opportunity.

How does Auction overlap work inside AdOps?

AdOps has no auction-overlap diagnostic. The relevant controls are the three pre-filters that scope which campaigns a rule touches, and the Duplicate action, which deep-copies a campaign and is the usual way advertisers end up with competing copies of a winner.

Auction overlap is self-competition: two of an advertiser’s own ad sets bid for the same person, and Meta enters only the one it expects to perform best. AdOps cannot measure it, since no overlap or reach metric exists in its 45-metric catalogue, but two of its features shape whether overlap happens at all.

How does automation create auction overlap?

Duplication. The AdOps Duplicate action posts a deep copy of a campaign to Meta, which is the standard way to scale a winner and also the standard way to end up with two near-identical campaigns chasing one audience. Giving that task an action frequency of Once in a lifetime keeps a rule from cloning the same campaign repeatedly.

What does overlap cost in practice?

Delivery, not money directly. Two duplicated campaigns at Rp 2,000,000 a day each will not necessarily spend Rp 4,000,000 against a fresh audience; part of that budget simply displaces the other campaign, and both report thinner results than the single original did on the same total spend.

How do you keep two AdOps rules off the same campaign?

Use the pre-filters. A rule can be scoped by Campaign ID equal or not equal, Campaign Name contains or does not contain, and Campaign Status is or is not ACTIVE or PAUSED. Naming conventions plus a name-contains filter are how most teams keep a scaling rule and a pausing rule from acting on the same campaigns.
